I’m a teacher with Chicago Public Schools and a proud former high school debater. My work as an educator centers on culturally responsive teaching—making sure every student sees themselves in the classroom and feels empowered to use their voice.

My Story

Originally from South Georgia, Chicago has been home for more than 10 years. It’s here that I’m building my career as a teacher in Chicago Public Schools and found my calling as an advocate for students through debate and specialized instruction.

Debate changed my life when I was in high school — it taught me how to think critically, speak with confidence, and see the world from new perspectives. I want my students to experience that same growth. That passion for equity is why I created PolicyDebateTimer.com.

I know how intimidating policy debate can feel for new debaters, especially those who don’t have access to experienced coaches or resources. I hope to remove barriers and make debate easier to learn — whether that means breaking down complex concepts into student-friendly language or creating tools that help students stay organized and confident.

I am committed to using cutting-edge technology to make debate — and learning in general — more accessible, engaging, and empowering for all students.
